Johnson Silver Minnows

Post by Richard Wright »

Does anybody know if Johnson Silver Minnows (a deadly bait) were in fact a subsidiary of Pflueger? And while we're at it, have any of you had any fishing experience with the Pflueger Akron Free Spool model? Only the sincere need reply.

Richard:

I don't think there is any connection to Pflueger. The Silver Minnow was made "only by the Louis Johnson Co", and to the best of my knowledge, Pflueger did not own Louis Johnson Co.

Perhaps someone else can chime in but I have quite a few of these old silver minnows laying around in boxes scattered here and there----and no mention of pflueger anywhere.

I have a complete set of the boxes. size "B" to "#4" and none say anythiong about Pflueger. They all state," Manufactured by the Louis Jhonson Co., 40 N. Wells Street, Chicago, Ill." They did appear in some of the Shakespeare catalogues but were out soursed items. Hope this helps.
